Intact Insurance · Senior Visual Designer, Specialty Boston, MA · July 2018 — present
I joined as part of OneBeacon Insurance ahead of its acquisition by Intact, and transitioned into the Specialty division during the brand consolidation. I've been the sole creative leader inside Specialty for the company's most active growth period, directing brand work across 20+ verticals and 150+ territories with a three-person design team reporting to me.
Selected work:
- Self-initiated brand messaging framework to address fragmented external positioning in the Specialty division. Currently being socialized with senior leadership as the basis for a unified brand model and pilot rollout. [See case study →]
- Creative direction on the BondClick relaunch campaign — an online surety bond binding platform — which grew the active broker network by 66%, drove a 148% increase in bond volume, and produced 91% premium growth in Q1 post-launch. Campaign system subsequently exported to Intact Surety in Canada and the UK. [See case study →]
- Led the operational visual brand migration from OneBeacon to Intact following the acquisition, including asset library reskinning, internal rollout coordination, and broker-facing transition materials.
- Ongoing creative direction across campaign, digital, OOH, print, trade show, and sales enablement work for Specialty's 20+ verticals.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product, underwriting leadership, claims, and regional Specialty teams across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Europe.
Bevi · Visual Designer Boston, MA · October 2016 — July 2018
Joined during Series B fundraise and remained through Series C, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Co-founder. Owned brand identity, campaigns, website, machine packaging, sales collateral, trade show presence, and OOH.
Selected work:
– Conducted field research with ten-plus office managers across customer accounts, identifying that the actual approver of Bevi purchases was not the audience the brand was marketing to. Reoriented the company's messaging hierarchy to lead with operational relief alongside the existing sustainability and health stories. [See case study →]
– Bevi revenue grew 900% during my 18-month tenure across the Series B–C arc. Brand work was one of several factors. The reorientation of the messaging hierarchy meant the marketing was talking to the right person about the right thing during the most consequential growth period of the company's life.
– Brand expression work across machine packaging, sales decks, OOH, trade shows, and the company's website.
